Eagle House School (Sutton); Bringing Bridge and Steps Together
Eagle House School (Sutton) occupies a two acre core campus of mature gardens close to Sutton town centre comprised of two main teaching blocks and several satellite teaching rooms.
Eagle Court
Eagle Court is a modern 2-storey purpose built provision and this is where our Steps Group is based.
Our large teaching rooms are bright, airy and welcoming. They have been specially designed to create a low arousal environment to give pupils a calm and relaxed area in which to work and learn. This has been achieved though the consistent use of calming colours and specialist lighting. Each teaching room is well resourced with classroom computers, laptops, interactive Smartboards and full network access. We create structure through the effective use of visual support.
Relaxation Areas. At Eagle House School (Sutton) we recognise the importance of providing our pupils with areas in which there is peace and quiet. Our relaxation areas allow our students, as and when necessary, to have a time away from their group to reduce anxiety and stress.
Our Assembly and Meeting Room. Our spacious assembly room provides a place in which all our pupils can meet for recreational activities, and assemblies. Our assembly room has interactive Smartboards to make our assemblies visually stimulating and dynamic for our young people.
An Independent Living Skills Suite. Our fully equipped and purpose-designed living skills suite provides our pupils with opportunities to practise every day living skills. These include practical and functional activities such as working together to prepare meals, safe handling of food, laundry, home care and other valuable independent living skills.
Eagle House
Eagle House is an elegant two storey converted mansion house with accommodation comprised of nine intimate teaching rooms designed for small-group learning. There is also a fully equiped ICT suite, an art and design room and science rooms which provide the environment necessary for delivering practical and vocational subjects through the Key Stages up to examination level. We recognise the importance of providing 'chill out' rooms for pupils.
Sensory Barn. Our accommodation includes a purpose designed sensory room where pupils can receive support from our own qualified Occupational Therapists.
Outdoor Areas. There are hard surfaced areas to include a tennis court, badminton courts and basketball area. In addition, we have our own wildlife area and outdoor sensory area.
And the Local Community. Eagle House School (Sutton) is extremely well positioned being within five minutes walk of Sutton town centre and all it's amenities. Much use is made of local facilities to include 5 recreational pitches, sports facilities, swimming pools and leisure centre. Our pupils regularly use Sutton Central Library, high street shops and our local nature reserve in Devonshire Avenue. Overton Park, our local park, is across the road from our school.
