Working with Parents
We Recognise and Value the Important Role Played by Parents and Carers

We value your knowledge, experience and input
At Eagle House School (Sutton) we encourage our parents/carers to play as active a role in their young person’s education as they are able. We ensure mutually supportive home/school links and always welcome parents/carers into School to visit us.
At Eagle House School you can expect us to:-
- value your young person as an individual
- provide a stimulating and motivating curriculum which encourages full potential
- provide a safe, happy and caring environment for teaching and learning
- ensure close communication through open and honest discussion
- respect confidentiality and be non-judgemental
- recognise the important role you play in your young person’s education
- provide you with regular information about your young person’s progress
We encourage parents and carers to:-
- work in partnership with us
- share your concerns with us
- be honest and open
- ensure your young person’s regular attendance at school
- attend progress meetings and annual reviews regarding your young person
- support the teaching team and agree to undertake any home/school learning
- actively support the school’s policies and guidelines for behaviour
We strive to keep our parents and carers informed and involved by providing:-
- Our home/school diary which allows a 2-way flow of information between parents/carers and School. We will share the excitement of new skills learnt in school and equally encourage you to share your young person’s achievements
- Our aim is to communicate success and feel proud of achievements. Similarly it allows you to tell us about events that may have happened at home, for example, an outing or more difficult issues such as having a sleepless night that could affect the school day
- Our regular school newsletter which will be sent home to all parents/carers providing updates on school excitements
- Access to our multidisciplinary team for support and advice on issues you may be experiencing at home
- Formal and informal review meetings where parents/carers can discuss a pupil’s progress, targets and provision
- Making our school policies available to parents
- Providing regular workshops for parents on a range of issues that are of interest to our families. The workshops are an opportunity to meet with our multidisciplinary staff and to share a coffee with other parents/carers
Our aim is to communicate success and feel proud of achievements
